The Liverpool Boat Show will be managed and developed by a specialist team drawn together within MIE - Marine Industry Events Ltd - a company specifically formed for the purpose of delivering the Liverpool Boat Show.

The company directors have a long pedigree in the UK exhibitions industry, with a first class track record in the delivery of major international events together with direct knowledge of the marine exhibition industry.

Rob Mackenzie, managing director of MIE, has 25 years board level experience in UK exhibitions industry including CEO of EMAP Exhibitions Group , managing director of News International Exhibitions, managing director of IIR Exhibitions, development director at ExCeL and, most recently managing director of IMIE - organiser of the successful relaunch of the British International Motor Show which won five prestigious industry awards including Exhibition of the Year, Most Impressive Visitor Experience and Best Marketing Campaign.

James Gower, commercial and marketing director of MIE, has extensive knowledge, contacts and experience within the marine industry and was for seven years marketing director of both the British Marine Federation and National Boat Shows with responsibility for the audience experience and delivery for both the Southampton and London International Boat Shows. During his tenure, NBS picked up the coveted Best Exhibition and Best Marketing Campaign Awards for both the London and Southampton Boat Shows.

Mike Richmond, operations director for MIE, has some 20 years experience in the staging of major outdoor events and festivals. He is highly respected within Liverpool, having successfully managed all the operational aspects for the Tall Ships Race on behalf of the city. He was also a key player in staging the highly acclaimed International Festival of the Sea in 1996, 1998, 2001, and 2005.

The MIE Show Management Team will work in close consultation with a Steering Group of Partners including senior representatives from Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Vision, The Mersey Partnership, the boating industry and major regional yachting clubs under the chairmanship of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.
