All the very best to Liverpool’s first boat show, a boat show in the City Of Sail - from Isle of Anglesey and Holyhead Sailing Club.

Commodore Holyhead Sailing Club

The city's accessibility and geographic position mean the Liverpool Boat Show 2011 will attract interest from across the UK and Europe and will be uniquely placed to deliver visitors from Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the North of England.

Liverpool is home to the fastest growing airport in Europe, John Lennon International Airport, which is just 20 minutes from the Albert Dock and has flights to six UK destinations including Southampton, Jersey, Aberdeen and Belfast and to 53 European cities, many through low-cost carriers such as Eastern Airways, RyanAir, EasyJet and FlyBe.

The city is just two hours from London by train. Virgin Trains' 125mph Pendolino service between London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street runs 18 times a day, with average journey times of just two hours and seven minutes.

Liverpool also enjoys good ferry links, with regular sailings to Dublin, Belfast and the Isle of Man.

By road, the city centre is just 45 minutes from Manchester and one hour and 45 minutes from Birmingham. Major conurbations such as Leeds, Newcastle, Hull, Leicester, Glasgow, Stoke, Bristol, Cardiff and Edinburgh are all within the key two-and a half hour journey time.

The Albert Dock has some 5,000 secure car park spaces and is a few minutes' walk from the city's main bus interchange.

The city is also served by the UK's best performing metro rail system, providing low cost transport from the entire city region into the city centre and with connections to destinations across Cheshire and Lancashire.
